Directions

  1. Mark step 1 done

Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mark step 2 done

Unroll the all-butter puff pastry (320g) onto a cutting board and slice it into long, thin strips, about 5 millimetres wide.

  3. Mark step 3 done

Wrap the all-butter puff pastry (320g) strips around each of the pork cocktail sausages (24), criss-crossing them to look like mummy bandages. Leave a small gap near the top of each sausage (24) to create a space for the face.

  4. Mark step 4 done

Place the wrapped sausages (24) on the prepared baking sheet. Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it lightly over the pastry using a pastry brush.

  5. Mark step 5 done

Bake for 15 minutes to 20 min, or until the all-butter puff pastry (320g) is golden brown and the sausages (24) reach an internal temperature of 74°C.

  6. Mark step 6 done

Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Dip a toothpick into the yellow mustard (5ml) and dot two small eyes onto the exposed face of each sausage (24). Serve warm. To store, cool completely in a shallow container and refrigerate within 2 hours; they will keep for up to 4 days.
