Daily SimmerFound a recipe on a website or in an Instagram reel? Paste the public link to bring its ingredients, steps, servings, and timing into Daily Simmer. Check the result, fix anything the source left unclear, and save it to your library.
What imports free
Most public recipe pages import free. There is no separate import limit, but recipes you explicitly Save and can currently access count toward the Free plan's 25-recipe library limit. Family, direct-share, and Collection-only access do not count.
Some websites block imports. Private pages and anything behind a login or age gate cannot be read.
Social posts and pages that need more work
Public Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube posts need more work to turn into a recipe. The same can be true for a recipe page that does not make its ingredients and steps easy to read.
The Free plan includes five successful Smart Imports from these sources each month. After those five, wait for the monthly reset or upgrade to continue with Credits. A failed Smart Import uses neither an import nor Credits.
The link field includes a Smart Import if needed switch. Leave it on if you want Daily Simmer to try the extra step when the free import cannot read the page. The progress display tells you when this happens.
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube
Daily Simmer reads public posts from these four services as a signed-out visitor. It does not log in as you or work around a login wall. If a post is private, age-gated, or only visible after sign-in, open it yourself and add the recipe manually.
Importing a link in chat
You can also share a link with the assistant. If it needs an import that can use Credits, the assistant asks you to confirm before continuing.
If no recipe comes back
Try the link again, use a different public link, open the page yourself, or add the recipe manually. Daily Simmer shows the same failure reason whether you started on the import page or in chat.
